On October 23rd, on a beautiful crisp fall evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Durden (Wendy), it was a wonderful setting for the Women’s Board’s annual Fall Gathering. It didn’t take long to catch your first glimpse of this year’s Art and Antiques Show theme, Boxwood and BowTies, “A Modern Twist on Southern Traditions”.
The front courtyard contained tables filled with items that will be used to decorate for the grand Opening Night Party – – -Jacksonville’s party that heralds in the holiday season. I love that we re-sale at close-to-wholesale price all these wonderful decorative items to anyone that come to our Show.
Women’s Board members from all parts of River City came to the Ponte Vedra Beach area for this fun party. Food for the evening was catered by Karen Glenn and captured favorite Southern flavors.
Grace Sarber, Women’s Board President along with this year’s Art and Antiques Show Chairs, Jane Loop Pomar and Susan Feeley stood on the foyer staircase to say a few brief words about the upcoming Show.
Jane highlighted the wonderful guest Lecturers: Bobby McAlpine & Susan Ferrier (10AM on Dec 5th), Juli Catlin and William Nash (11:30AM on Dec 5th), Jan Showers (10AM on Dec 6th), Jane Schwab and Cindy Smith (1PM on Dec 6th) and Julia Reed (1PM on Dec 7).
The Women’s Board Fall Gathering is an annual event that many members look forward to attending. It is a great time to catch up with friends and to get energized for the upcoming Art & Antiques Show, Dec. 5-7 at the Prime Osborn Convention Center.
